Microsoft Windows XP End Of Life

December 22nd, 2012

Every Windows Product has a Life Cycle

As you maybe aware, Microsoft Windows XP was first released back in December 2001 and has been superceeded by releases of newer Microsoft operating systems at least 3 times since its release. (Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8)

The Microsoft Windows XP  operating system is in excess of 11 years old, although there are many people and businesses that still use Microsoft Windows XP as it was a great Windows Operating System (but to be fair), Microsoft XP has had its day.

Microsoft XP is only 32bit compatible and more modern versions of Windows are 64bit compatible and a lot more powerful.

The I.T market place is changing and support for Microsoft Windows XP is diminishing.

Modern off the shelf software for Cameras, Printers, Mobile Phones, Drivers etc are unlikely to provide support for Windows XP as it is a 11 year old operating system. In the same way you don’t generally see support for Windows 95 or Windows 98, Windows XP is going the same way.

Basically, for the Windows XP die hards,  there will come a point (in the very near future) where you will be forced to upgrade or replace your Windows XP computers and laptops.
